HOME AWAY FROM HOME: FLORIDA #1

It's been almost two weeks since I returned home from Florida, and amidst launching a new business and creating a monthly magazine, I have FINALLY found the time to write about my crazy adventures. This blog was originally started to document my three week trip to Florida, and I've decided to make two posts about my time overseas.

I arrived in Florida in the middle of the afternoon, and nothing could beat the feeling of walking off the plane and feeling sunshine on my skin, it was just glorious. I've been to Florida a couple of times before so I already have some of my favourite spots picked out, one of them being Disney's Boardwalk. I don't usually make a massive deal of doing the Disney Parks when I'm over there, purely because they're super expensive and I'm a student on a budget, but the Boardwalk is completely free. It is essentially a village on the water and is packed with shops, bars, a club or two and is one of the cutest places I have ever been. It's so much better in the evening when the sun goes down and the surrounding lights light up the water.

Besides visting the boardwalk, I spent a lot of my time tanning at the pool and taking advantage of the lovely sunshine. Eating out at some lovely restaurants and laughing at myself for thinking I could even attempt to finish a portion of food. Shopping which led me to spend more money on perfume than anything else, and I also went to the movies a couple of times. If you haven't seen Monsters University yet, go and see it, it's amazing!

My second Florida blog will include photos of Disney's Epcot (the one Disney park I did visit this year), Wekiwa Springs (which was an outdoor spring that you could swim in), lots of #selfies and some snippets from the Fourth of July. Stay tuned for part two!

  1. The best holiday I ever had was when I went to florida for two weeks in early 2000's. It is such a great place to go, everyone is so happy! I came home with such a bounce in my step (which soon went away after a week! booooo!) x

I went to Florida when I was younger (Orlando) and all I can remember is going to a lot of theme parks.
