Welcome to part two of my home away from home Florida posts. If you missed part one, you can catch up and read it here.
Seeing as I was staying at a friends house in Florida and she lives around 10 minutes away from Disney, I didn't feel right not going and visiting at least one park. Last year we visited Universal Studios which I loved, and this year I made the incredibly difficult decision of picking Epcot, which is one of my favourite parks too. Ride wise it's not the best for thrill seekers like myself, but I still made sure I rode almost every ride. Especially Soarin', Mission:SPACE and Test Track.
Epcot is one of the more culturally diverse parks, and a large part of the land is split up into different countries which have replicas of special landmarks, and also shops and restaurants dedicated to that specific place. For the majority of the day it was just myself and Livv who explored the park and we decided it would be a great idea to take a picture in each of the countries. Some proved more difficult than others, but in the end but we managed to get them all. We made an extra effort to stop in England too because we're both British.
This was my second time at Epcot. The very first time I went I was fourteen and I was with my family. We were only in Orlando for a little while and ending up trying to cram four parks into a few days. We did it, but I genuinely don't know how. Epcot was the last park we visited, and I remembered being so mesmirised by the firework display that they put on every night: Illuminations - Reflections of the Earth. I was lucky enough to see the incredible display again (I even have it on video so I can watch it whenever), this time joined by Livv, her parents and her sister who I was also staying with. I felt the same euphoria I felt six years prior, and it's just an indescribable feeling to watch 2,000 fireworks explode in front of your eyes. I've never felt a feeling like it, it truly is magical.
Though writing this has made me incredibly homesick for a place that isn't even my home, and for that reason I've decided to leave my storytelling of 4th of July, Wekiwa Springs and glow in the dark mini golf for another time!
Do you have a favourite Disney Park?

Do you know what it is, I really don't enjoy theme parks and the like, but your post makes me actually want to visit one again and see if I've been wrong all this time. Parks aside, America is still awesome. Dying to go back. Also, those fireworks look amazing!

ReplyDeleteI've never been to Disney! My sister went for her honeymoon. My little boy is a big Mickey fan, so I suspect we'll have to save up the cash and go one day. =)
