Exploring: Amble Marina

Lone Boat

One of the downsides of not being able to drive is having to rely on either my family or my friends to take me places, but when I get the chance to go somewhere new I really really appreciate it. This past week my parents and I drove up to Amble Marina, which is about an hour away from our home. I knew it existed but I had never been, and decided that because it was fairly warm and nobody had any plans that we should make the most of things and go.

We packed fairly lightly with it being a spontaneous trip. Us three, the dog and a backpack filled with essentials and we were on our way. With cameras in our hands, my Dad and I stopped to take pictures along our way through the marina. My Dad used to be a photographer and I've been bugging him for the best part of a year to teach me how to use my camera. I bought it last year and in all honesty, most of the time I don't know what I'm doing. I've also been experimenting with my editing style a lot, so these photos will look a lot different to the usual ones on my blog. I like them a lot though, so I hope you do too.

The marina was busier than I thought it would be, and that was actually really nice to see because even though the marina isn't in the most obviously highlighted, it was still buzzing with a lot of people who were making the most of the sunshine. The only thing that would have made my trip better would have been grabbing an ice cream.

I hope you're enjoying the last of your summer.

  1. I hope your dad gets around to showing you a couple of tricks! Even though in my opinion the best way to learn is by going out there and just taking photos of anything you can find lol Your photos are really beautiful already though, with such nice composition. I love the editing as well!

    1. I definitely agree that it's good to go out and learn yourself, but learning some tricks of the trade never hurts. Thank you for the lovely words about my photos though, that means a lot! x
