It is with a heavy heart that I write this post because Summer is well and truly over, and my every day reality of going back to university starts again on Monday. Seeing as I'm so reluctant to believe the truth, I decided to reflect on these past four months of Summer solely through my Instagram feed.
Just after I finished university for Summer I created this blog. I spent my first few days of freedom celebrating with friends by going for drinks, and lots of them. I headed out to a bar to catch a few local acts, and spent the following weekend at my cities biggest music festival watching the likes of Bastille, Ellie Goulding and Paloma Faith perform. I also spent a lot of time in the garden, mesmerised by the chimney flames.
Without a shadow of a doubt, one of my favourite parts of Summer was having the opportunity to go to Florida for three weeks to visit one of my best friends. I've already blogged about my trip in three parts (read one, two, three), so I won't go into too much detail again. There are so many things about Florida that I just really really love.
After returning home it was nice to find that England hadn't let me down, and that the sun was still shining high in the sky. Wearing sunglasses was still acceptable and I could easily get away with wearing shorts and a tank top without needing a jacket. I visited the beach a few times, had lots of BBQs, celebrated my friends engagement party and went on several adventures in my city centre, including stopping off at a museum where I thought it would be hilarious to take a selfie with a dinosaur.
The weather started to get a little cooler, and my bank balance had taken a definite hit, so I found myself slowly but surely getting obsessed with a bunch of TV shows. I watched Orange Is The New Black in three days straight, caught up on the final season of Skins and started Gossip Girl - which I thought I'd hate but I actually love. I still managed to find the time to treat myself, catch up with old friends and go on some adventures with my family.
More recently though, I've been embracing the art of waking up early, despite how difficult it has been, I need to get myself into shape for my 6/7am starts (ugh). I also got a chance to see one of my favourite bands perform, which I still can't get over. I've also noticed that we're definitely transitioning into Autumn, and the moon seems to be appearing earlier and earlier each day. I know I'm having a chilled out weekend which will consist of nothing more than savouring my time in bed, not sleeping, just lazing, so I essentially ended my four months off by having a meal with my parents and their friends.
Before I did this post I wasn't really sure if I'd actually done much over the duration of four months, and when I've written it all down it seems like a fair bit but not as much as I would have liked to do. Does that even make sense? I don't know. What I do know is that I've loved the things I have done, and this has been one of the most memorable Summers I've had.
Beautiful pictures! Loved reading this :) So great you got to go to Florida this summmer!

I just can't believe the summer is over! Why does it always have to hurry and leave? So many great memories, though!
