Exploring: Disneyland Paris

When my alarm awoke me at 3:30am I could hardly believe that a mere four hours of sleep had been and gone. Albeit, I shot up and got ready, triple checked my luggage and sat awaiting the taxi while drinking my cup of tea. In less than 6 hours time I'd be in France, and that was pretty exciting.

The taxi soon arrived and my friend Caitlin was as equally excited as me. We got to the airport, checked in and boarded pretty quickly. The plane ride was only an hour and a half and over in a flash. We landed and I don't know what I was expecting, but I didn't feel like I was in France.

After a bit of trouble getting lost in the airport we finally found our necessary shuttle bus and were on the road for another half an hour. As we drove on I still couldn't get my head around the fact that we had just boarded a plane and were in France, getting ready to stay at a Disney hotel. We had talked about doing it for so long that it just didn't feel real. Soon enough the bus pulled up and much to my surprise it was our stop. As we got off the bus the Disney Newport Bay Club Hotel was staring at us in the face.

We pre checked in (actual checkin wasn't until 3pm) and left our luggage with a seemingly distressed French man. A bus pulled up outside of the hotel exclaiming "Disney Village" and we thought - "yeah, why not, let's just get on that."

We were on the bus for about 5 minutes before everyone got off at the first stop. We decided we best get off too as the last thing we wanted was to get lost in France, especially on the first day. It was immediately evident that we were in the right place. Crowds and crowds of people were up ahead of us and we could see the trademark planet Hollywood building in the distance. Let the adventures begin.

Check back tomorrow to see what Disney park was like.
