Grab Yourself Some "Me" Time.

Since coming back home from Florida my life has been pretty hectic. From catching up with friends and family, running errands and generally going about my day-to-day life like a crazy person who hasn't slept in forever, I finally got a chance to chill out this week.

Having the chance to settle back into a routine (which I'm not usually fond of doing), has really allowed me to appreciate the simpler things, like spending time with my parents and my dog Bailey. I've also finally found the time to read some books which have been on my reading list forever, and I forgot how relaxing reading could actually be. The weather has also done wonders in keeping me company, besides those odd thunderstorms that we keep getting. Then again this is England, and we like to go from one weather extreme to the next.

Sometimes I think we all need to take a step back from whatever real life stuff we have going on, and just have ourselves some "me" time. I think that's what this past week or so has definitely taught me. It's good to be busy, and it's good to keep learning, but it is also just as good to know when to have a break.

I hope you have been having a wonderful week so far, and if you're feeling stressed or a little under the weather, go grab yourself some "me" time, I promise you'll feel better after it.

  1. definitely agree. it's like that quote, "the time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time." we all need a breather from time to time :) x

  4. I'm eyeing some Chuck Palahniuk there, do you read a lot of his stuff? I keep hearing so many good things about his writing but I haven't picked one up. If you have any starting recommendation for one of his books, let me know.

And I couldn't agree more about that bit of "me time." I just signed up for a sewing class which gives my husband some "me time" at home, which I think he wholeheartedly deserves.

    1. I have heard so much about his books too, that I decided to give him a chance, but this is the first book I've read by him, so not much of a recommendation but I'm loving it so far.

  5. Really enjoyed this post, and you're so right. I often find that when I get back from holiday I reverse all the good that the relaxing has done me by going full pelt back into filling my diary up with social occasions, catching up on work and being here there and everywhere. Next time I go away I'm going to schedule some 'me time' for when I get back! PS - I love Invisible Monsters, hope you're enjoying it :) xo
