As you probably guessed from my blog name, meaning to orbit the ocean as in travel the world, I'm a big fan of exploring. I love the thrill of visiting somewhere new and not knowing what you're going to find. The excitement of the adventure itself is one of the many things that makes me the happy. It's nice to visit new places and it makes a change from seeing the same things every day. Plus it's hopefully an opportunity for me to take some photos too!
My parents and I recently went to Alnmouth, which is a little village in Northumberland. We drove through the village as my Mam tore some ligaments in her leg a few months ago, so walking isn't her strongest point at the moment. The village looked quaint but still bustling with energy as we drove through, and sometimes I think the hidden places have the potential to be the best.
We headed straight to the beach for a nice little afternoon walk with our dog, and it was nice to see many other families taking advantage of the nice weather. I had never been to this beach before, and I really liked that on certain parts it would be busy as hell, with an array of people either swimming, digging holes, sunning themselves or playing fetch with their dogs. Then you could walk along a little further and you'd be hit with a wave of quiet, as the waves lashed over each other and the sounds of voices lingered in the distance.
I'm really lucky to live near the coastal line and have a bunch of different beaches close to my home. Although living so close to the coast sometimes brings super cold weather, the ability to hop in the car and drive fifteen minutes to the nearest beach is something I really appreciate. Although Alnmouth is about an hours drive, it certainly makes the list for my top beaches in the UK.
These pictures are stunning!

My husband and I are soon embarking on living full-time in an RV so that we can explore so many wonderful places, ocean to ocean. Thanks for sharing and I can now add another place to my list!
ReplyDeleteI've never been anywhere near Northumberland, but more photos I see of that part of the world the more I'd love to visit. Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing :)
