I really like doing these posts at the beginning of the month you know. Despite being someone who runs on spreadsheets and to-do lists I always forget when one month ends and another one starts, and the weeks end up just rolling into one.
September was a marker month, and October is a month for settling back into routines. I find that up until about the end of October time goes relatively fast, but then once the horrible weather hits a week feels like a month and a month feels like a year. Thankfully I have some strong plans to see me through the rest of 2013, so I hope they'll be enough to not let winter drag on forever.
This month, besides settling into routines again, I'm going to a lot of gigs - and ones that I actually get to be a fan at. Sometimes I'll go to 5 gigs in a week, and I have to be professional and review the show. But my upcoming shows mean I can get down and dirty in the crowd, I can dance crazily and it won't look weird because I won't be by myself. I won't have to be watching the crowd and how they react, or critiquing the performances to every last detail. I can just have fun and singalong (note:badly) with some of my favourite musicians.
There's also Halloween, but I'm not its biggest fan, so I'll opt not to dwell on that.
P.s I've created a survey to help me with a big project at university and I'd be ever so grateful if you could fill it out and/or share it with anyone who might take part. Let me know if you do it, and I'll give you a virtual high five!
I'm not such a big fan of Halloween either, I'm with you on that one. I hope the month goes as well as you hope, and the gigs are amazing! I've seen so much hype about October on my Twitter already, I didn't realise how much it is loved
ReplyDeletep.s. I just took your survey
I know exactly how you feel but now we are going into the warmer months and things are starting to get really busy, I love hot weather though so I cant wait!
ReplyDeleteWe dont celebrate halloween at all over here so that is something that i dont have to worry about.

I took the survey too :)
I hate Halloween too! However, I do enjoy the cold weather because I like being able to wrap up warm haha! :) About to take your survey now.
ReplyDeleteOctober always seems to go really fast for me - the first couple of weeks are taken up with the students returning to work (I work at a uni) and before you know it, Halloween's here! Hoping to have a family fireworks/bonfire party at the end of the month :-) x
ReplyDeleteps. just taken your survey as well - I'd love to read a magazine about blogging!
